NAIDOC Week Grant Program
The Northern Territory Government is proud to support remote communities across the Northern Territory in celebrating NAIDOC Week activities that honour the strength, culture and achievements of Aboriginal Territorians.

Aim of the grant program
To provide funding that supports the celebration of Aboriginal culture, language, history and achievements as part of the Northern Territory’s NAIDOC Week celebrations.
Through this grant program, the Northern Territory Government aims to support and empower remote communities to lead NAIDOC Week celebrations that reflect their own stories, traditions and aspirations, ensuring that NAIDOC Week is meaningfully acknowledged across remote parts of the Northern Territory.
Who can apply
To be eligible for a grant, you must satisfy all the following:
- Northern Territory based non-governmental organisations
- Northern Territory based Aboriginal organisations and community groups
- Northern Territory Aboriginal businesses
- Northern Territory sports and social/leisure clubs
- Northern Territory based regional councils
- Northern Territory remote based schools
Individuals can apply however, you must be able to demonstrate a link/support structure with an organisation in the Northern Territory and meet all criteria and acquittal requirements.
Organisations/individuals can only apply for one grant through this program.
All applicants must have a registered ABN and must be seeking funding for activities delivered in a remote or regional NT community.

What you can apply for
A grant of up to $5,000 to promote and manage an event/project/activity that celebrates and/or recognises Aboriginal culture, language, history and achievements as part of NAIDOC Week celebrations in 2026.
The event/activity and/or project that you are applying for funding towards must be completed during the period 5 July to 31 August 2026.
Grants may be used to cover the following:
- venue hire and equipment costs
- cost to promote the event/activity/project
- catering costs (excludes alcohol)
- other activity costs if outlined in application.

Applications for the NAIDOC Week Grant Program are now open and close Tuesday 30 June 2026.
To apply for any Northern Territory Government grants, you will need to create an account and profile on the GrantsNT website.
Applications will only be accepted if received online through the GrantsNT website. If you do not have an account or an appropriate profile, refer to the help page on the GrantsNT website.
The online application is designed to provide detailed information for the consideration and comparison of applications. All required information in GrantsNT must be completed and appropriate documents attached before an application can be considered.
